One Month

Hi y'all!

Genny over at My Cup 2 Yours has been reading the book, One Month To Live. She has been posting about it for a few weeks. She also doing something really cool with the stories that others are posting.

She told me about this a while ago and I have spent the past two weeks really thinking about if I only had one month to live. What would I do. What would I say. Would I go any where or choose to stay here.

In the midst of all this thinking my boys have given me some great opportunities to really think about if I only had one month to live.

Here is what I mean.

Friday night, I took the boys out to eat dinner and told them if they were good I would take them to the treasure store. I then thought to myself, even if they were bad I was still going to take them because what if I only had one month to live. Would I let this chance to see my boys smile slip by. No I wouldn't.

Turns out they behaved at dinner and so off we went. I even let them pick out five things instead of the usual two or three. They were so excited! And I was glad I took the time to just be in the moment with them.

The more I thought about this one month to live thing the more I started naming things off that I would do or would like to do.

So imagine this another list....

Start video taping my self. Setting up a video library if you will, so I will be able to tell R8 and R3 everything that I want them to know. As long as I am able I want to be the one to tell them things about life, love, Jesus, college, sex, drugs, first kisses, driving a car. You get my point. I want them to be able to put in a tape and see me talking to them. Me telling them all the things as if I was sitting right there with them. OK crying now moving on.

Stop rushing from here to there. Take a few minutes to be in the moment with my family. Just be with them and enjoy them. Watch the stars, play in the rain, hug them a little longer.

Cuddle more with Hubs. We usually spend a few minutes every day in an extended hug but I want more. I love how when he holds me I put my head in his chest and just breath him in.

Stop worrying that all of the laundry is done, the bathrooms are clean and the house is vacuumed. It will wait but my children growing up will not. They already think I am perfect. So why do I feel the need to keep trying to convince them. I want them to remember me playing with them. Not how clean the house always was.

OK now two things selfish for me....1) meet some of my bloggy friends. These are some of the most amazing women I never met. And I would love the chance to give them a hug and thank them for their friendship. 2) storm chase....just so I can said I did it!

OK, now if you want to, grab the button from Genny's site and post about what you would do if you only had one month to live.

I loved this! Especially the part about video taping yourself and not rushing from here to there. And the part about you being held by your hubby brought tears to my eyes. I'm so glad you participated in this!
