Something stinks in suberbia

OK where do I start.....

Some times things in life just down right stink! Some times being an adult stinks! Some times being a parent stinks!

Don't get me wrong I love being a mom. But the house of R&R is dealing with a few things right now that need my attention.

So if y'all, as in the three readers I have, don't mind I am going to take a break.

I be back in a few days. Hope everyone has a great rest of the week and weekend.

Sick the first day of school

I really had another post ready to put all I had to do was insert a picture of the boys on their first day of school.

But R2 was sick all day yesterday. Like the throwing up kind of sick. Like he is going to miss his first day of kindergarten sick.

I changed the sheets on my bed twice and we moved our bed room and the living room couch with a small trash can in tow.

I felt so sorry for him. He couldn't even keep water down.

Not a great way to start off the new school. Missing his big debut of going to kindergarten on the very first day of school.

My in laws are here and they are going to stay home with R2, while take R1 to school.

I was really looking forward to taking R2 to school with R1.

So boys,

I love you both! R2 I hope you feel better soon. And R1 I hope you have a great first day and an awesome school year!!

Love,
Mama

Good bye to daycare

Yesterday I picked up R2 up from daycare.

This is something I have not done in several months since Hubs works two blocks from the daycare, he drops him off and picks him.

But last night he had something to do and I had to pick him up.

I walked in the door and R2 was there to greet me with a hug. Then I looked up and saw Ms. Debra and we both just started to cry.

Ms. Debra has been there since the beginning. She just kinda took R2 as her very own.

I had no idea how hard it would be to walk into that place. Those people have become like family to me.

Thank you Ms. Debra, Ms. Krissy, Ms. Jennifer, Ms. Mary, Ms. Steppie, and Ms. Anne. I love you all!

So I guess I will be a mess when R1 starts kindergarten on Monday. I'll let ya know.

Brother and Sister

Back in May, my aunt from New York came to visit.

The last time I saw her I was pregnant with R2. My parents, R1 and I flew to New York for my cousins wedding. It was a brief weekend trip with not much time for catching up.

So five years later she came to visit us. And what a visit it was! I seriously don't know who had more fun, the boys or her.

Anyway, while she was here, we had a few baseball games to play. My parents came to watch R1 play while my aunt was here too.

See my dad and my aunt are brother and sister. And I snapped this picture while they were sitting and watching their favorite player.

It's one of my favorite shots.

And they're off, the braces that is

R1 has come to the middle of his orthodontic adventure.

He got his braces off yesterday. He didn't even have them on for a year.

The orthodontist said his teeth were to a point where they needed to come off. And he was going to give him a break till the remainder of his permanent teeth come in.

Once they did he would put the braces back on. Which is why we are in the middle of this ortho adventure.

Another great thing the doctor said was his teeth wouldn't shift to much during this process so he wouldn't need a retainer.

Don't you think they look great?

They are hugging, really they are

A few weeks ago we were working in the yard and R2 found something among the weeds.

He asked me what the snails were doing.

I was not ready to give my five year old the sex talk. I had to think fast.

My reply...

They are hugging.

Pretty good huh?

I'm a coaches widow no more

For 13 years I have been a coaches a wife.

Not any more.

Hubs has retired from coaching. I will no longer be a football widow.

No more Jr. High or High School sporting events.

No more football or basketball.

No more afternoon practices or Friday night games. No more early Saturday mornings either.

676 Thursday nights. 676 Friday nights. 676 Saturday mornings.

Done, finished!!

I am so excited so for Hubs. He enjoyed coaching the kids but now he wants to be coaching his own boys.

So Hubs thanks for your years of coaching and I hope you enjoy your retirement!

Blink...Blink...Blink...

Blink...I got married.

Blink...3 years later I had my first child.

Blink...My baby turned one.

Blink...3 1/2 after that I had my second child. Blinked again that same year and first child started kindergarten.

Blink...My second baby turned one.

Blink...blink...blink

Days and years started to fly by and my babies were growing up.

Life became full of school and homework, baseball, basketball, school programs, daily lunches, field trips, weekend get aways, family visits, holidays, summer vacations, and so much more.

But now I blinked again and my youngest baby is starting kindergarten in a few weeks.

I am a little sad. But I have to admit I am excited too.

And I am sure the next time I blink my youngest baby will in 5th grade and my oldest will in high school.

Blink.

Slave driver

Hubs had a birthday on Saturday. He turned thirty something.

I usually I say something about how much I love him and list out several of those things.

This year instead I gave him a very special gift. The gift of housework.

I am such a slave driver I didn't even give him the day off to do what ever it was he wanted. I had him help me clean the house instead.

We scrubbed, dusted, mopped, swept, vacuumed, washed, dried, folded, and put away laundry all day.

The house now sparkles and shines from top to bottom.

And to make it even a better day, he had to go film the varsity football scrimmage that evening.

I did how ever reward him for his work. The boys and I took him out to dinner.

So happy belated birthday Hubs! Thanks for all your help this weekend!

I love you!

Stay-vacay

Ok I have been falling off the bloggy waggon for a while now.

I used to post every day and then poof, I would miss a day or two or six.

So I have made and executive decision since I am the CEO of this here blog.

I'm going on vacation.

I'm not really "going" any where. I will actually be staying right here but I am going to take a few days off from blogging.

I'll be back next week, provided I don't completely fall of the waggon.

Y'all have a great week!
