Graduate

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day. I also hope that you remembered it was not just a day for BBQ's and fun but a day to reflect on those who gave their lives for our freedom.

A few weeks ago my supervisor graduated with her Masters degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

My office was pretty proud of her. It took her three years but she did it. She was kinda nervous towards the end making sure everything was turned in and the proper signatures were received.

She was pretty excited as she walked across the graduation stage to receive her diploma. But my office had a little early celebration.

We kinda trashed her office. Trashed in a good way. She was so surprised!

Way to go Christy!!!! We are so proud of you!

Blogging, school, and a bunch of other stuff

Yes I know I didn't put up a post yesterday. And to be honest I didn't think anyone would notice until Hubs said something.

He asked my why I didn't blog. He said you used to be a blogging machine, cranking out stuff every day.

Truth is we had some stuff going on yesterday and it's still going on today. Nothing that can't be fixed but please just keep us in your prayers. We still have a looooong journey ahead of us.

But on a happier note. R1, who is in 5th grade got commended AGAIN on his TAKS scores. I'm so stinking proud of him!!!

And because 5th grade got higher than 92% passing on their science scores, Hubs and Coach J had to sleep on the roof again. You can go here to read all about it.

And hopefully I will have something again to post about because that would make it two days in a row. And you know I'm such a blogging machine.

METS are the champions-TWICE

We spent all day at the ball park on Saturday. From 10AM till 6PM to be exact.

R2 had his final tournament of the season. The boys played three games. That's three games for a bunch of 5-6yr olds. But they did it, and won.

The boys played hard and fought through being tired and the heat, OH THE HEAT.

R2 brought his A game and I couldn't be more proud of him. He stopped every ball he could, he never gave up on one if it got past him, and he SMASHED the ball when he was batting. He played his heart out.

After the last game we had closing ceremonies where every player received a trophy for their hard work during the season. R2's team got the first place trophy for winning the end of season tournament.

Then the team who won first place for the entire season was given a trophy. It was R2's team! Our boys only lost one game the entire season! I am so excited for each one of them.

After the trophy presentation was complete, the All Star teams were announced.

R2 made All Stars!!! His face lit up when the called his name and ran up to receive his All Star hat.

I was one proud mama on Saturday.

I have to say that this season was amazing. We seriously have had the best players, coaches, and parents. Over the past seven years we have been on both sides of the fence numerous times and this season has been one of the very best!

Thanks METS, it's been one heck of season!

Just a bunch of stuff

10 more days of school, not that I'm counting. That's all that is left. And I have to admit I'm torn about it ending.

My oldest baby will be going to Jr. High and my youngest baby will be out of Kindergarten.

OK now that that sappy moment is over, I'm ready for all things school related to be over.

R1 had an underwater sea project where he had to make a giant clam. Yeah ask me later how we manage to pull that one off.

Baseball is just about over. R2 has his last tournament Saturday and then closing ceremonies and the announcement of All Stars. R1 still has several more games to play and then his closing ceremonies and All Star announcements.

We have WAY to much going on at work. My supervisor is leaving, her husband is being transferred to California. I am going to miss her. She is one of the best supervisors I have ever had. And my new one is already here and training. She seems very sweet as well. So with that said, I'm in charge of her surprise going away party and I'm throwing my new supervisor a welcome breakfast all in the same week. Some where in there, our office is going to lunch too.

And if that wasn't enough our department head moved up her October wedding to Memorial Day weekend. She is now getting married next week! So that is another party we have to get together in less than a week. I seriously had to opt out in organizing that one.

Oh and did I mention that R2 has two doctors appointments next week. And tomorrow we have the annual teacher/family crawfish boil.

Thank goodness for the calendar on my phone, the one on my desk, and the one on the wall at work or I would be lost. I was so lost I couldn't even remember who had games when. And when I made the comment to Hubs yesterday morning about being able to come home he just looked me like I had three heads and said, uh no, R1 has a game. Oops! Which by the way he went two for two and his team won!

OK and now I admit I'm just a bit tired from even mentioning all the activities.

See y'all Monday!

Can you see the difference

We all know those cartoon pictures in the newspaper, where they post two pictures and one is slightly different and you have to find the different things.

Well, my baby got glasses last week. And If I do say so my self I think he's just the cutest little thing ever! I mean seriously I could just eat him up!

After I snapped these photos last night I took a few more.

And all I can say is boys will be boys.

Weed

Hello...it anyone there?

So I'm just gonna jump right on in.

Sunday afternoon I was at my beloved H-E-B buying the staples for this weeks groceries. You know, French Onion Dip, Corn Nuts, and Spinach/Arugula lettuce mix. Yeah we're healthy eaters.

As I'm perusing the lotion aisle and a kid, and yes now I know I'm old since I am calling a nineteen/twenty year old a kid.

Anyway,

A kid walked up to my cart and looked in and asked where I had gotten the frozen pizzas. I just kinda looked at him and said in the frozen food section.

He said, so they have THOUSANDS of pizzas I can choose from. I said, yeah.

He said can you show them to me. I said no but just go down to the end of the isle and turn right and you will see them.

He then looks in my cart again and asks are you sure you can't show me. I said NO! I'm busy and I can't. And then I walk away.

As I was walking away he says hey do you have any weed?

I turned back around and said loudly DO I LOOK LIKE I HAVE ANY WEED!

Seriously, I can't believe someone just asked me for drugs. I also responded by going to get a manager and tell them what just happened. The manager said she would check into it. I tell her thank you and then proceed to the check out lines.

While I'm standing in line to pay the manager came back up and said that the kid had asked around twenty people if they had an weed. And that our local police department was on their way to pick him up.

I thanked her and then walked to my car. As I was loading up the last bag I turned just in time to see police department pull up and get out to talk to him.

I have to say never in a million years would I have thought that while at the grocery store would some one ask me for drugs. I mean I have been asked for spare change, to buy someone some food, to buy someone some gas. I've even been asked for my ID while buying a bottle of wine. But never and I do mean never have I ever been solicited for drugs.

But what also struck me was here we were in an entire store full of easy access food, such as fruits and chips and so on but he wanted my frozen pizza. Guess when you have the munchies even cheap frozen pizza sounds good!

Hope jail food tasted just as good.

Break time

OK so here it. I need a break.

I need a mini vacay. I'm so busy right now, I can't see straight. I'm full on over load.

Baseball, practices, homework, end of school activities, doctors appointments, way to many doctors appointments I might add, blogging, graduation, and prom. Oh and did I mention baseball?

Mama is just running on fumes. So much to do and so little time.

So I'm taking the rest of the week off. And since I'm the CEO of this here blog I can do things like that.

Oh and by the way R2's team won first place for the season. His last regular season game was last night and he hit a homerun! Now we have two tournaments, one beginning this weekend.

WAY TO R2 AND WAY TO GO METS!!

Sushi, it's what's for dessert

So the other day I was looking around on the internet and came across this recipe for sushi. Only it's not your traditional sushi, it's sushi made out of Rice Krispy Treats, gummy worms, Twizzlers, and fruit roll ups.

It looked pretty easy and something fun that boys, all three of them, and I might want to try.

First we made the Rice Krispy Treats.
Then we rolled them out and let them cool for a bit. Once cooled we cut them into rectangles.

Next we put a gummy worm and a Twizzler in each. Then we rolled them over.

After that we rolled the fruit roll ups around them.
And then we sliced them up like sushi.
They were delicious!

Cookie Jo

Sweet Cookie.

She is the best dog ever!

Every night when I sit in the recliner she comes and sits right between my legs. If she's not sitting with me, this is where she will be.

She is the sweetest dog.

Baseball

I know I haven't blogged to much about baseball this year. And to honest I have no idea why. Maybe it's because we are smack dab in the middle of the season and with both boys playing I find that I am meeting myself coming and going.

R1 and R2 are having a phenomenal year. I'm so proud of them.

R1 is still playing catcher, which he loves, but he is also getting to play first and he is pitching some too. He is super stoked about that.

R2's team is tied for first!! He even hit a home run Tuesday night. Actually his whole team was on fire. Several of them hit homers and at least all of them hit doubles. It was a great game.

Here are a few pics from the season.

Early summer swim

Saturday afternoon the boys were invited to a birthday party.

A swimming party.

This is what happened when the kids kept bugging the parents.
Just kidding. The two dads were begged by the kids to be thrown into the pool. Each one couldn't wait for their turn. And you can tell by some of the facial reactions from the kids waiting, it turned into a contest on how high they could be thrown.

I don't know who had more fun, the kids or me taking the pictures!

We got him and one day closer till the boys come home

This is totally not what I was going to post about but in light of the event last night I felt it needed mentioning.

Osama Bin Laden is dead!

Thank you George W Bush! Thank you troops!

The UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is grateful for your service and everything you have done.

Now God speed home.

Oh and can we now see about getting those gas prices lowered?
