School is out!

School's out, school's out, teachers let the monkeys out....books good-bye to you!!!

Can you tell I am just a tad bit excited that school is over?

R8 is now officially a 4th grader. Woo-Hoo!!

Where did the time goo? It feels just like yesterday I was walking him down the hall to kindergarten.

But summer has started and I am thankful! But just wait till summer is almost over, I will be saying is it time for school to start yet.

I know we will be spending alot of time at the lake and the ball park. And I can't wait.

I might even get to keep the tan I started Memorial Day weekend.

So I hope everyone has a great summer!

R8's field day

I mentioned early in the week that R8 had field day at school.

It is a tradition that we have formed that I always attended field day. And after we spend the day doing what he would like to do.

This year he wanted to go a local restaurant and get their fried mushrooms and play pool. Then he wanted to go play putt putt golf. So that is exactly what we did.

But here are a few pictures from field day.

Makes my heart smile

Once again Yvette at The Charm House has given me an award!! I love receiving awards from her.

She is always so generous when it comes to blog awards.

It makes me happy to know that I have made some one else laugh or have brightened their day.

So now I am supposed to pass this on to 10 other bloggers.

Usually I am a rebel because I never give an award to just the people it asks for, but today I think I will try.

The rules are....

1. The winner may put the logo on their blog (just right click on the image and copy, then paste to your blog post)

2. Put a link to the person who sent you the award

3. Nominate 10 blogs

4. Put a link to their blogs

5. Leave a message for your nominee's

So here it goes... my picks are:

And as just look I only put up 5 blogs not the requested 10...still a rebel...

So much to tell

I have so much to tell that went on this past weekend I don't know where to start.

But before I tell y'all all about it, I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!

R8 had field day at school on Friday and I will post pictures later. But he did great and it was fun to watch.

Then Saturday we had closing ceremonies for baseball and R8 made All-Stars!!! So we will be playing baseball till July!

I was so proud of him! Go R8!!!

Right after that we left for the lake to go spend the holiday weekend at the in-laws.

We had the best time. We played hard all weekend.

R4 rode in the tube pulled behind the boat. R8 learned to water ski.

We invited our friends Phil and Beth and their kids up for a day and they came.

The all rode the tube and wiped out...big time! So funny. And of course I was a terrible blogger and didn't have my camera.

Then on Monday SIL and her family came up.

Another day of skiing, wake boarding, and tubing.

Let's just say I wanted to get some sun and I got a lot of sun.

But Hubs says the tan looks good.

And my philosophy is tanned fat looks better than pale white fat!

I'm just sayin'.

Let us remember

Today is Memorial Day.

Let us not forget the reason we have today.

Let us remember all of the soldiers past and present who fought to give us our freedom.

The ones who gave their lives and the families they left behind.

The ones on the front lines now who are missing their spouses and families and in return they are missing them.

Let us remember the past wars so that we may not repeat them.

Let us just remember what this day means for all of us.

And if you see a soldier today, thank them, they deserve so much more!

It's the weekend!

So I took the day off today so I could go hang out with R8 at school for his field day.

I do this every year, go outside in the heat and sweat while I watch him go from activity to activity while he gets hot and sweaty.

But I love watching him and that out weighs the need to take a second shower when I get home.

Anyway,

Saturday we have closing ceremonies for baseball and then we are going to the lake for a long weekend.

So I hope each of you have something wonderful planned with your family!

Pre-K Promotion

You can usually tell when it's the end of the school year.

My posts contain more pictures and very few words instead of my normal bore you to death about what we ate for dinner.

So staying to true to my form here are some pictures of R4 from his Pre-K graduation.

R4 and his best friends!

Opening ceremonies, R4 saying The Pledge of Allegiance.

He was so proud of his diploma. And so was I.

Way to go R4!! I love you!

My son the snake charmer

R8 went on a field trip the other day at school.

I was unable to attend. But one of my friends who has a child in R8's grade went.

She took some pictures for me. And imagine my surprise when I got this.

R8 didn't even mention he held an alligator let alone a snake.

A HUGE SNAKE.

At least he had a good time. It was all he talked about for the remainder of the day minus the alligator and snake holding.

I learned something new

I learned a new phrase this past weekend.

I want to know if any of you have ever heard this phrase.

The phrase must be a boy thing.

I laughed so hard when R8 told me what it was and R4 repeated it more than once. And when my dad got in on the action my sides hurt so bad from all the laughing.

The phrase.....I busted a grumpy using my rip stick.

Know what it means?....

Want to know what it means?...

It means...I tooted and it was so loud the it shook the house.

You're welcome, you're very welcome.

Almost the end

Saturday was a CrAzY day for me.

R4 and R8 both had baseball games. R8 ended up having a double header. R4 and R8's second game were at the same time so I was running from one field to the other like a nut.

And I had a photography company at the park taking action pictures of the boys. R8 had some done in 2006 and they were awesome.

I really wanted to get R4 since this was his first year to play and I really wanted R8 in his catchers gear.

I can't wait to see those.

R8 made some great plays at home and even made an inside the park home run.

When that happens he gets to pick what ever he wants from the concession stand.

So while Hubs, R8 and my dad made their way to the car, I went to battle the lines and get R8 his chicken strips and french fries. I don't know what it is about ball park food but the kids love it.

R4 left with my in-laws since they were going to the John Deer Tractor Store and R4 is all about anything John Deer.

Sorry, got off the point.

The point is R4 is now done with baseball. We made it through his first season.

Right after his game they had closing ceremonies and each child received their trophy.

R4 was so proud he couldn't wait to get home and put it on his dresser. And the good news...he still wants to play next year.

As for R8, he still has one week left. One more week of games, one more week of eating my pickle flavored sunflower seeds, one more week of washing uniforms.

But guess what?? It just might not be over.

Two words....All Stars!

Ready for summer

So is anyone else ready for summer?

We have two weeks before school lets out for the summer.

The end of the year rush has begun.

School parties and field trips, the endless notes home telling of this event or that function.

I'm ready for a break from the school schedule.

Baseball season is almost over too.

I'm ready for a little summer fun, how about you?

To Twitter or not to Twitter

That's my question.

I have been hearing so much about Twitter lately.

Don't get me wrong, I have known about it and I know people who use Twitter.

Hubs twitters.

But I can't decide if I want to take the plunge or not.

Sometimes I think it would be great. But other times I feel as if I am plugged into enough things already.

What do y'all think?

Do y'all Twitter?

Do y'all like it?

Cookie and the boys

So we have had Cookie, our dog, for almost three months.

She really is a good dog aside from the wandering into the neighbors yard to eat what ever she finds.

And I know I was blind to think for one minute she would want the boys more than me.

R8 could care less. He like her and will pet her but won't go out of his way to do so. Oh he gives her an occasional treat and takes her out of her crate. But to do anything else I have to ask.

R4 on the other hand would sit and cuddle her all day if I or she would let him.

He pets her and talks to her and tries to hug her all the time. I am constantly telling him to leave the dog alone.

But when I come home or sit down, all bets are off. Cookie
wants mama! She knows I'm a sucker and will pet her at will and rub her belly.

And she sleeps at the foot of my bed. I thought for sure she would sleep at the foot of one of the boys beds but no she likes mine.

As much as the boys try and get Cookie to sleep with them she won't.

So the other night we had family movie night and R4 crashed and R8 was just about asleep when Cookie jumped up on foot of the recliner and laid down.

And as proof for R4 I took this picture.

One of the best Mother's Day gifts ever

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!

My boys all three of them gave me on of the most memorable gifts I have ever received.

One of the things I wanted to do yesterday was watch old videos of the boys. Now R4's I can still remember most of the things he said and did.

But R8 well almost 9 years has passed since he was born. He was so stinkin' cute when he was learning to talk and his curly hair.

Looking at those movies was one of the highlights of my day.

While I was getting the next video ready, Hubs put on some music from the computer that we as a family normally dance to and act silly.

The song was "Everybody Dance Now" by C&C Music Factory.

Come On Swwweeeaaattt...

Sorry I got off track.

So I look up from my deciding what video to watch just in time to see my boys, all three them dancing around the living room.

And just when I was going to go back to picking they turn around and start shaking their behinds at me!

I just start laughing so hard my sides hurt.

But the best part was yet to come.

Next move...they all took off their shirts and started to swing them over their heads.

It was so priceless.

It was the best part of my Mother's Day watching them perform for me.

And that made being a mom so worth it!

Hi, Happy Mother's Day, and our reptile visitor

Happy Mother's Day-early! I hope each of you have a day full of family and love.

Thanks everyone for the sweet emails and prayers!

I'm feeling better and I'm still adjusting to the changes regarding my job. There are still more to come. I'm still praying that God shows me all the doors he has opened and leads me to them. He has already shown me some and I am so thankful.

With that said I'm going to move forward and get back to the things I love. The three B's...(my) boys, baseball, and blogging.

I mentioned while I was away on my break that we had a t
urtle. Well R4 found it in our drive way. The first time I have ever seen one since we moved in 8 years ago.

He came running into the house and told me to get my camera and I obliged him and followed him outside to look at what he desperately wanted me to take a picture of.

Check these out...

R4 thought it looked hungry and asked if we could feed it, so I gave it some lettuce.

And by morning the turtle was gone and so was most of the lettuce.

I'm back in a sense

Oh sweet blogging friends how I missed ya.

And while I was away and very busy I did manage to squeeze in some family fun time.

And as I mentioned there was so much else that happened other than baseball but right now my heart just isn't in it to tell.

I have been thrown so far out of my comfort zone I don't think I will find it any time soon.

Basically there were some drastic changes regarding my job last Friday which affected me directly and it sent me spinning all weekend.

I just can't seem to get the blogging mojo going. And those of you that know me know how I love to blog.

So while I still have much to say and yes I did write them down so I don't forget them, I'm still going to be on a break. I need to get my barrings and sort through everything.

I'm going to ask you to pray for me. Pray that God makes it very apparent what path He wants me to take. That God shows me the open door in a big way. That He picks me up and shakes me till I know with out a doubt His hand is all over this situation.

Thanks friends for being so understanding and I will be checking in and hopefully I will be back to my normal self soon.

And I will still be reading your blogs. Because y'all are the best medicine. You lift me up, make me smile, and laugh out loud!

I can't seem to come up with a title.

So you would think that after being on a break for a week I would have so much to tell you.

Truth is I do but my latest addiction has completely taken over.

In two words...

PATH WORDS

Oh sweet friends I'm hooked.

Yeah it's one of those computer word games. You've gotta come up with words in a timed session. You can either play against your self or some one else.

I live dangerously, I play me to see if I can better my score and then I play against Hubs to see if I can kick is butt.

Hubs is smart! Super smart and it's hard to beat him.

I have played so much my shoulder hurts from keeping it in the same position. I know, I'm lame.

Starting to twitch gotta go play.

Be back tomorrow to tell you about the turtle we found, the trip to the ER we almost took, and how on Sunday I watched so much food network I was inspired to go to HEB with a list.
