A new band

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....wait wrong direction.

A long time ago when I had only been blogging a few months, Hubs purchased Rock Band 1 and it became my new obsession. I couldn't get enough. I would play for hours. Well the boys and I would play for hours.

Then the newness wore off and I was back to my other favorite things to do.

Now Rock Band 2 for the Play Station 3 has come out and oh me oh my the music! People let me tell you, the creators have out done themselves.

You can go here for a list of songs and their artists. While yes there are some songs that I don't care for the ones I do far out weigh the others.

We hung out with our friends S and J on Saturday night and played for almost 3 hours. We had the best time. The kids even got in on playing.

We had a complete band. Two guitars, a drummer, and a singer.

What I love about this game besides the awesome music is that four of us can play at the same time. Something else I like is that not only do we have Rock Band but J and S and our other friends T and C have it also. So when we hang out we all take turns playing different things. It makes for some great entertainment.

Oh, I do have to tell the story behind the purchase of the new Rock Band 2, because things like this N-E-V-E-R happen to me. Never, ever, never.

Hubs purchased the new game on line. Since we have Rock Band 1 we only needed the disc for the new game. He did in store pick and I went at lunch and picked it up.

I walk to the customer service counter, at the national retail store which shall be nameless but rhymes with vest and vie.

I show them my ID and my receipt that I had printed out on line. Then the clerk hands me this huge box, says thank you and have a great day.

Being clueless I haul the thing back to the car and call Hubs and ask him if the new game should only be a CD or the entire system. Because I have no idea what he purchased, I just like to play the game.

He says just the CD. So I tell him the clerk gave me the entire system. Rock Band 2 Limited Edition. New drums, mic, guitar and game.

He says well you just got the wrong thing and what they gave you sells for $189.99

OK, by this point I am back at work and I tell him I am taking it back after work and telling them they made a mistake because that is the right thing to do.

Hubs agrees with me, while it would be nice to have the new updated system that we only paid $59.99 for, it is the right thing to do.

After work I head back to the store and haul that box right back to the customer service counter and tell the clerk I think they made a mistake when I came in earlier that day.

I ask her to check my receipt again the box sitting on the counter. I even tell her I was only supposed to get the CD not a complete system.

The clerk looks at my paper work and then says yes you got the right thing. Rock Band 2. I ask her again are you sure. So she checks the paper work again and says yes you picked up the right thing.

OK so how am I going to argue with her after I just told her they gave me the wrong thing earlier and here she is telling me it's right. So I tell her thank you for checking and haul the box back to the car.

After loading it back in the car, I went back into the store and doubled checked just to make sure they weren't having some sort of in store sale. I find the CD and then I find the entire system. No in store special. My original purchase of the CD only was priced at $59.99 and the system priced at $189.99.

So I called Hubs and told him the clerk check the paper work and that I did have the right stuff.
I hear complete silence on the other end of the phone. He was just as shocked as I was.

He asked if I told her I thought it was wrong and I said yes. But she checked the paper work twice.

Things like this never happen to me. Well they used to never happen.

Alright and now that I have bored you to death, I am off to go play me some Steve Miller Band or The Go-Go's or Ratt, or Journey, or Fleetwood Mac.....
