April Fools Day pranks

So Friday was April Fools Day and Hubs and I played some pretty good pranks on family and friends.

Firsts Hubs got his co-workers with an apple pie. A mock apple pie.

What is a mock apple pie? It's an apple pie that does not contain apples. There are several recipes on line for them but Hubs made the one using Ritz crackers. He made a trial run one on Wednesday night and served it to me and it was darn good. If I didn't know it didn't contain apples I would have never known.

Any way he brought it school and left it in the teachers lounge and by lunch it was gone. Then he sent out to the teachers about how when he was in high school his favorite teacher brought some pies his wife had made and they were best he'd ever eaten and so on. The last thing he said the pie you just ate contained no apples. April Fools.

The teachers loved it!

My prank was pulled on my sister in law. I went R2's baby book and took out the positive pregnancy test, put it on my bathroom counter and took a picture with my cell phone. I sent it to her with a text that said, HOLY CRAP!! Calling the doctor this morning.

She called me laughing and I started to cry. Well fake cry. I went on about something about my age and not having any baby stuff. And what am I gonna do with another baby, my baby is 6 and so on. This went on for about five minutes. She couldn't believe what I was telling her. She started to get all serious and was shocked. Then I cried, said her name and she said yes and I said Happy April Fools Day.

She told me I was mean and couldn't believe I would do that to her. But she did say she bought it hook, line, and sinker. Sister never falls for stuff like that. The best was she fell for it!

That had to have been the best April Fools Day prank EVER!

Y'all are too funny! I've heard of the Ritz "apple" pie before, but I've never made one. I totally need to try it sometime. I can't believe you did that to your sis-in-law!

Those are great pranks. :)

My grandmother, for as long as she lived, would call my brother and me on April Fool's Day and tell us that it was snowing outside and school had been cancelled. She even called us when we were away at college, which my roommates always thought was a hoot. She was alive for the first four years that I taught school and she always called me then, too. I always think of her on April 1st and wish I could be on the receiving end of her little prank again. :)
