Well I pretty much still feel like a Mac truck ran over my lungs and then decided to back over my sinus cavity and park itself permanently.
I know from one extreme to the next. That's Southeast Texas weather for you.
So I will spare you all of the coughing and hacking details and tell you this...now Hubs is sick.
Yep, I like to share.
So since we still have a day and a half of school left I'm off to take the wonder cough medicine, prescription strength Tussin that will knock me out till morning.
Sweet Dreams.

Cough Choke Cough
Well I spend Monday of Memorial Day.
The weekend started off great with the boys having baseball Friday night. Saturday I helped Beth get ready for Nicks graduation party.
But after that it went all down hill. We got setting up for the party around 8:30 on Saturday night. Sunday we went to church and then came home for a bit before going back up at 7 for Nicks party.
But the entire time I coughing and felt like I was trying to hack up one of my lungs. By Monday I couldn't take it and I ended up going to Urgent Care. I'm so glad I didn't wait until Tuesday when my regular doctors office was open because I ended up having bronchitis.
So I hope each of you had a great holiday I'm off to either hopefully a deep sleep or to more coughing where I'm sure my other lung just might come up.
Cough, cough, cough...

Memorial 2012
Today is Memorial Day.
Let us not forget the reason we have today and why we celebrate.
Let us remember all of the soldiers past and present who fought to give us our freedom.
The ones who gave their lives and the families they left behind.
The ones on the front lines now who are missing their spouses and families and in return they are missing them.
Let us remember the past wars so that we may not repeat them.
Let us just remember what this day means for all of us.
And if you see a soldier today, thank them, they deserve so much more!

Fashion Friday-Denim Bermuda Shorts
So a while back, Brooke asked me about denim Bermuda shorts. So I went the hunt and found several cute pairs at some pretty good prices. And being that it's only the end of May and I have been wearing capri's and flip flops since around Thanksgiving, I would say it's officially short weather.
Old Navy
JC Penney's
Dillards had these online
The Avenue had this cute pair.
Levi's and Kohls also had several great pairs of denim shorts and some decent prices, I just could never get the pictures to load.
So there you have it. Brooke, I hope this helps.

All. Most. There.
I'm so tired I can't even think straight. So if this post makes no sense at all you will know why.
I haven't really stopped since last week. We have a baseball game every night this week except for Wednesday. But we have church on Wednesday so it's not a free night either.
This weekend I'm helping my best friend Beth get ready for her son's graduation party on Sunday. So Saturday will be all kinds of crazy trying to all of the decorations and food and some where in there she said she wants to get pedicures. Because you can't go to a graduation party without pretty feet. OK I know that was a stretch but what ever works.
Oh on a side we are in the process of finalizing our vacation plans and can I just say I'm so excited!!!
Thank goodness we are off on Monday because I'm going to need a day to recover.
Two. More. Days. All. Most. There.

Fun In The Sun
OK so I still haven't caught up on my sleep and it's 10:36pm to be exact. I really should be in bed but I'm washing several baseball uniforms because guess who baseball games every night this week...R2.
The only night we are off is Wednesday. I might as well put a cot in the dugout and camp out. Hmmmm I don't think so because tonight the bugs were so bad they were creeping me out. That and we have had a few bats flying around lately so I think I'll just pass.
Now on to the fun sun stuff. Friday R2 had field day and just like I did when R1 was in elementary school I take off from work and go hang out with him at school. What that translates to is mom make sure you bring money.
So because Hubs just looked over at me and I was half asleep here are few pictures from Friday.

Sunday movie day
Well I was going to tell y'all about R2's Fun In The Sun day at school but to be honest, I'm still trying to recover from the weekend. It was full. So I'll save the Fun Day details for when I can think clearly.
The weekend began with Field Day for R2 on Friday, then R2 had a ball game and at the same time R1 had band concert. Then Saturday was more baseball but I had to help out with graduation where I work and that took 8hrs. I kid you not! After all of that we had a family fish fry at our house to celebrate Mother's Day. I know we are a week late but we all could not get together last weekend.
We went to church this morning and I tried to take a nap and twice but I was woken up just as I was falling asleep. After the second time I gave up on the nap and ended up watching The Bad News Bears. The original one with Walter Matthau and Tatum O'Neal.
Right now Urban Cowboy is on. I watch it almost every time it comes on. Seems like a theme is going on here, old movie day.
There are several old movies I watch pretty much every time they come on. A list if you will.

On The Radio
Donna Summer passed away yesterday.
I felt it needed to be mentioned as I loved her music when I was growing up. I remember the day my dad came home from work with her greatest hits volumes 1 & 2.
I would play her records over and over and over.
Heaven Knows, Dim All The Lights, Last Dance, MacArthur Park, Bad Girls, Hot Stuff, Sunset People, Love To Love You Baby, and On The Radio.
Do ya'll remember the movie the Foxes with Jodie Foster? On The Radio is played through out the entire movie.
Rest In Peace Queen of Disco, you and your music will be missed.

Baseball weekend recap
Friday night Hubs and I were going to take the boys to a college baseball game. We told them they could each invite a friend to come home with them after school and then go to the game with us.
The only problem...RAIN! We didn't think about the chance of it raining but boy did. Like 90%. So instead of going to the baseball game, I just picked up some pizza and the boys all hung out and played until early evening.
Saturday both boys had ball games. Only it rained all night and the fields were a mess and they canceled all games for the day.
What a free Saturday?! I have to admit, I was just a bit excited at the thought of doing what ever we wanted. And what did we do. We went to Sams, HEB, Buffalo Wild Wings, and the mall. I know we partied it up.
Then Sunday we went to church and then drove through McDonald's for lunch and headed to the ballpark to watch the Lamar Cardinals take on Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
I know Mother's Day at the ball park, but it was exactly what I wanted to do.
It was a beautiful day and the boys had a blast running for fly balls. And at the end of the game they got to run the bases along with get a few players signatures on the balls they chased down. The Cardinals won 9-1 Woo Hoo!
Then we came home and Hubs grilled chicken, corn, and made some awesome baked beans.
Overall it was a great weekend!

Fashion Friday- that wasn't
To be honest I'm just tired. After being at the ball park for four straight nights till almost 9:30pm and then having practice last night, I'm wiped out.
I know it's a lame excuse but if I was to put up a fashion post it would probably have nothing to do with cute shirts and the perfect denim shorts. (sorry Brooke) But rather it might include something along the lines of this:

color of baseball cleats
white baseball pants and why do they always pick white pants
the best flavor sunflower seeds
the best bat to hit home runs with
the perfect socks for those stinky cleats
and
the best chair to purchase that will last an entire season and beyond.

OK peeps I'm out of here because if I stay much longer I might have to explain what is the best powder to buy to get that NASTY smell out baseball cleats. Have a great weekend.

2 out of 22 ain't bad
Well our boys came up short tonight.
It was a tough loss. Things just didn't work in our favor. To many errors, bad hops, strike outs, and balls caught by the other team did us in.
But 2nd out 22 teams is a great accomplishment. I'm so proud of all of the boys.
I'm especially proud of R2. For the past three nights he has played till 9pm and then gotten up and went to school the next day without one complaint.
I don't know about him, but I've been wiped out every night. As a matter of fact, this is it, I'm done and off to bed. Sweet dreams peeps.

My adrenaline is still pumping.
So R2's team has been in a tournament since Sunday.
We had a game last night. It was a great game. Lots of cheering and screaming. Mostly the screaming was done by me at my own child.
There were some great plays and lots of nerve racking moments of trying to score runs. But the boys showed up to play and gave it their all. And we won 11-6.
We are now playing in the championship game. I couldn't be more proud of these boys.
Now I'm off to try and calm down. I don't think I'll be able to fall asleep until around midnight.
LETS GO CARDINALS!

My other player
R2's team has been having their directors tournament this week.
They had a regular scheduled game Friday. A bye on Saturday. They played Sunday and won. They played again Monday and won. And now we have a game tonight.
I snapped this shot the other night before one of the games.

One of my favorite pitchers
The boys had have been playing ball for 5 days straight. Either R1 or R2 have had games every night. And right now there seems to be no end in sight.
R2 is in a tournament right now and because they won on Sunday afternoon they play again tonight at 7:30.
But R1 had a game Saturday and he pitched. While he struggled to find the zone the ump wanted, I'm still proud of the effort he gave.

Fashion Friday-summer shoes
The reality of this post is it's late and we just got home from baseball. Kids need to take a bath. Laundry needs to be done and so much more.
Here are few outfits, really the shoes, that I found on Pinterest. I love Pinterest. It's so dang addictive.
Anyway, back to shoes...

And I haven't stopped yet
Well it's Wednesday and things are just as crazy as ever. I don't think I've stopped in over a week.
I did manage to do all of the laundry on Sunday. You know it's bad when you start using beach towels to dry off. Don't judge.
R1 had a ball game Monday night. He pitched and did great once he settled down. We were playing a team that we had not yet beat.
And WE BEAT THEM! It was a close game. We were ahead then we were behind then we came back and they came back but it just wasn't enough. We won 11-10. See close. I love games like that.
And last night was more baseball but thank goodness it was only practice. Tonight is church and the tomorrow night is more baseball, R1 has another game. And then it's the weekend and R2 has a tournament.
Oh and some where in there I have been keeping up with the Astros too. Go 'Stros!
Hope y'all have a great rest of the week.

Cardinals baseball
I had one of the best weekends. It was non stop but it was great!
Friday night I had some unexpected girl time with one of my best friends, Beth. Her husband and son were out of town and her daughter was at a youth function.
Hubs and R2 has plans to go and watch some Lamar Cardinals baseball, they had tickets for seats right behind home plate. R1 had a youth function, the same one Beth's daughter was going to.
So that left the two of us. We went out to eat dinner, did a little shopping and then went to the movies. We saw The Lucky One. It was just as good as the book.
Saturday I volunteered to work the concession stand at the ball park at 8:30AM. The good news was they really needed someone to work the admission gate. And since it was beautiful outside, I said I would do it. It was nice with the breeze blowing and I didn't mind since I really didn't want to smell like a french fry the rest of day. R1 had a game at 12 and R2 had a game at 1.
I got to watch R1 play for about thirty minutes and then we walked over to R2's field. When I left his game they were winning.
R2's game started and lets just say the boys showed up to play. They were all smashing the ball, running fast and letting nothing by them. R2 made a play at the plate for an out. It was awesome! They won 12-1.
When his game was over we walked back to R1's field and finished watching his game. They were losing, 15-12. Apparently his team was just the opposite of R1's. They were having trouble hitting, fielding, making plays, and scoring runs. It just wasn't in the cards for them on Saturday.
Sunday we had tickets to watch more Lamar Cardinals baseball, we even had the same seats right behind home plate. Here's a picture I took while waiting for the game to start from our seats.
It was another great day of baseball. Lamar beat McNeese 6-0 and R1 got picked for a contest at the chance to win two tickets to see the Houston Astros. And he won! All he had to do was chug a bottle of water as fast as he could and beat the two other people competing against him. One of the competitors was R2 . So it looks like we will heading to Houston to watch more baseball.
It was a weekend full of Cardinals baseball, and that's just how I like it.

Fashion Friday- dressy summer tops
Well we went from Spring to Summer just that fast. I'm almost certain that by the end of next week the 80-85 degree weather we have been having will sky rocket straight into the high 90's with not one cloud in the sky.
And since it's been so hot I have been living in t-shirts but sometimes you want a dressy tee or just a nice summer top to wear.
This one is cute and can either be dressed up or down.
Love the colors of this one.
I've also started to like the drape neck line. See it can either be dressed up with a skirt or dressed with some sandals and a capris.
And because I didn't get much of nap, I'm off in search of another one. I'm still pretty tired.
Y'all have a great weekend. Peace out peeps.

It's been a crazy three days
These past few days have been so insane that I am completely exhausted.
So I've already told you about the weekend and how we had to clean the house on Saturday. What I didn't tell you was the second reason we had to make sure the house was in order. The first reason being it was dirty and desperately needed it. The second was I was having a party on Tuesday night.
A few weeks ago a friend invited me to a gold and silver party. I know you are saying what is a gold and silver party? Well you basically dig through every drawer, jewelry box, freezer, and storage box you have looking for all of your unused, broken, or unwanted gold and silver and turn it in for cash.
I thought well I have a about 4-5 pieces I no longer used or wanted so I took them over to her house where she had a licensed jeweler look the items and quote me a price for them. I have the option to either accept the offer or turn it down.
Well with my 5 little pieces I ended up walking out with $160.00. CASH MONEY!
Then I thought how easy this would be to sell a party like this. No buying! But rather walking out with CASH in your hand. And boy did it ever work. I booked the party and went to work calling, texting, and even creating a event page.
I had a ton of people at my house on Tuesday night and some even went home after their visit and dug up more stuff and came back.
The party was a hug success and my friends and family all walked away with some extra mulah.
Another perk of the the party, was as hostess I received 10% of what was sold (traded in) and if I went over $2500.00 the percentage increased to 15%. I ended up with 15%. I was so excited when I received my CASH at the end of the night. And I'll even be receiving more. I had several people book parties after mine and for each party booked I receive an additional $25.00.
So as you can see with all the house cleaning, baseball, and more cleaning of the house. I'm wiped out. Done. Can't move. Don't wanna move.
Y'all have a great day, I'm off to find a place to take a nap.
