The Galaxy

When I was a kid we would sometimes go to a drive in movie theater.

My mom would make popcorn and we'd stop and get some can drinks and candy and put them in a cooler. And once we were there dad would open the fly windows and then roll down his window and hook the speak to his drivers window so we could hear.

Those were some great memories. My brother and I in the back of the car in our PJ's curled up with a blankets. Eating Jiffy Pop popcorn, my mom had just made on the stove, and drinking glass bottle cokes.

On our way to Dallas this past week, just before Ennis, TX I saw this...

I actually saw the screens first and thought it was an old shut down drive in. But to my surprise the Galaxy bill board had current movies showing.

Oh how I wish we had the time to stop. Drive-In movies are a dying thing and I would have loved for my boys to have this experience.

If any of you have the chance to take your kids to a drive-in I hope you do. It's something they will never forget.

Good Morning! I loved going to the drive-in too! We would go with my aunt and uncle. There is one or two around here and we are going to go to one of them before the summer is over (I hope).

Have a great day!

grown ups would be the perfect movie to see at a drive in. its all about settling down and enjoying the simple things in life like you did as a kid

We were just talking about drive-ins with some friends the other day. Some people my age have never been. That's so sad!! I've heard of one about an hour from here ~ I totally have to take my kids before they aren't around anymore!
