A case of the blahs

I have a case of the blahs today. I know it seems as if I have had them lately but today it seems worse.

We got our quote back from our contractor for the repairs from Hurricane Ike. I knew it would be high but then I looked at the check the insurance company gave us and just about choked.

Well I cried actually. The insurance check isn't even half the cost of the repairs.

Hubs is taking care of all of the details for this project because I didn't think I could. He is talking to our contractor who in turn will talk to the insurance company.

It just makes me sick to think of how they justify their payments. I pay high premiums only to get a minimum dollar check. I know the adjuster is just doing his job but what if the shoe was on the other foot? How would he feel.

The quote from the contactor also said three months for repairs.

Three months of being out of my house. SIGH

I love to decorate for fall and Halloween and I can't. SIGH

I am hoping to back in the house for Christmas.

I need to get out the blah mood so I think to make my self feel better, if only for a moment, I am going to find some chocolate and drink a Vanilla Latte from Starbucks.

Thanks for listening!

I could really get going on this subject. I know the adjusters are just doing what they are trained to do...give you the least amount possible. It is such a disappointment after you (we) have been paying high premiums for years and expect to be able to repair/replace what is damaged. I'm so sorry you had that disappointment. Bless you.

I'm so sorry you're feeling down! I'm sending prayers your way...

Thanks for stopping by and commenting today, too. I'm so glad you are going to do "My One Month"...I can't wait to read your post.

Hang in there!

I'm sending you a big hug! Here I am freaking out that my kitchen isn't even started yet and that my insurance company is sending us to a hotel for a week (to me that's a horrible thing). 3 months is so long, but I know you will get through it.

I'm so sorry you are going through all of this.

That is awful! It just doesn't seem right. I can understand you being down about that. Hope it goes faster for you than 3 months!
